Meridian Guitars, located in Avezzano, Italy, is where master luthier Davide Cardone creates world-class electric basses.

His small one man workshop is located 100 kilometers east of Rome, nestled in the foothills of the Apennine Mountains and surrounded by picturesque landscapes and steeped in rich Italian history. It is here that Davide creates his tempting range of electric basses suitable for the most discerning professional using the finest woods that have been aged for decades and in some cases, centuries! Meridian offers a range of 6 basses, including a micro bass with a 22.5” scale called The Vimana. Each model has very different characteristics, in order to satisfy the needs of a vast number of musicians. Yet, all his basses share the same starting module… an essential geometric shape from which he develops the instrument in its complexity: the ellipse. Starting off from a module, an archetypical form, was taught to Davide during his art studies. Painting, sculpture and architecture make use of this method in exactly the same way. Davide says that, “all models in the series are born exclusively from imagination, but it is normal that when you create something you inevitably end up taking some aspect of what you already know. In any case, Meridian basses are among the most recognisable, thanks also to the fact that they have a clearly visible stylistic unity between the various models”.
